La Dolce Vita raises £20,000 for Brain Tumour Research

In the Autumn and with the COVID-19 restrictions then being eased, Chris Kallis, a prominent local solicitor, organised a glittering charity evening at the New Continental Hotel in Plymouth.  Well attended by many of his colleagues, business personalities, medics, scientists and friends, the evening raised over £20,000.  Mr. Peter Whitfield spoke movingly about the suffering inflicted by brain tumours on the patients he treats during his practice as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in Derriford Hospital, and the way in which new treatments developed in the Brain Tumour Research Group in Plymouth are being used to improve outcomes.  Bruce Priday, former Albion player, conducted a charity auction of generous prizes donated by trustees, friends and colleagues.  Fabulous entertainment and dancing completed a memorable evening.  Well done Chris and thanks to everyone who so generously supported this important cause.
